One of the most popular dishes in summer.
Grill eggplants until their surfaces are burnt black.
Peel in the water, cut them into easy-to-eat sizes.
Garnish with grated ginger, dried bonito flakes.
Pour on ponzu sauce* or soy sauce.

"An-pan" is a round soft bread with "anko" (azuki-bean jam) in its center.
The originator "Yasubee Kimura" sold it in Ginza at early years of Meiji era.
It is very popular sweetened bun in Japan, and it is liked by any people
regardless of age or gender.

In Japan, there is really famous animated cartoon called "Anpan-man".
The face of the chief character named "Anpan-man" is made of "An-pan".
He shares his face with hungry persons.
